Grants for COVID-19 Impacted Small Businesses
Shavano Park Business Owner:
I am happy to announce that last night (August 24th) City Council approved a small business reinvestment program (SBRP), which authorizes the approval of grants from $2,500 to $25,000 for eligible small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Businesses must be located in Shavano Park and employ less than 10 people. Unfortunately, there are limits on what type of businesses are eligible. National chains, financial institutions, professional services (physicians, clinics, dentists, attorneys, engineers, architects, insurance agencies, etc.) and real estate agents are not eligible for grants.
Attached is the program description and application. The City will administer the program following guidance from Bexar County under the CARES Act. Unfortunately, there is a short window for application and approval due to the constraint from Bexar County to administer the funds by September 30th. If you do not qualify but know of another business that may, please forward to them this email.
If you are interested and intend to apply, please contact the City Manager by email at email@example.com with your intentions so that staff are aware and can begin assistance.
