Shavano Park Emergency Declaration

Pursuant to §418.108(b) of the Texas Government Code, the State of Disaster and Public Health Emergency declared by the Mayor starting March 23, 2020. It has been extended every month since then and is currently in effect until August 24 (when it will be reviewed again).

The Emergency declaration primarily assists our first responders in preparations and maintain eligibility for federal and state aid and resources to combat COVID-19. The Emergency Declaration rules regarding social distancing and prohibition of mass gatherings above 10 people mirrors State and County restrictions. The Declaration recently added two new Shavano-specific provisions which may impact you:

1)   During the Declaration all applications for garages sales and estate sales will be denied.

2)   During the Declaration the City Manager is authorized to approve banner signs related to COVID-19 stressed business messages in commercial zoning districts.
